GWG Holdings, Inc. Announces Key New Marketing Leaders

MINNEAPOLIS, April 30, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- GWG Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ: GWGH) ("GWG"), a specialty finance company and leader in the life insurance secondary market, announced the hiring of Chris Maddox as Chief Marketing Officer and Christian Trygstad as Director of Marketing. These highly experienced professionals will lead GWG's marketing efforts in advancing the Company's value proposition to investors, advisors and life insurance policy owners. Mr. Maddox and Mr. Trygstad will be further developing GWG's marketing and origination initiatives with respect to the $1,000,000,000 L Bond offering and life settlement policy acquisitions, as well as enhancing GWG's overall stakeholder relations.

As Chief Marketing Officer, Mr. Maddox will develop and oversee the overall marketing strategy for GWG in addition to overseeing all marketing plans and campaigns. Mr. Trygstad will lead the execution of the Company's traditional and online marketing campaigns.

Prior to joining GWG, Mr. Maddox spent 13 years with Columbia Management, ultimately serving as Vice President and Head of Marketing Communications, directing marketing and advertising campaigns that won several industry awards. Mr. Maddox also worked for multiple financial services companies, including Franklin Templeton Investments, Jackson, Roger Engemann & Associates and Stein Roe & Farnham over the course of his 25-year professional career. He holds a Bachelor's Degree in finance and economics from Washburn University and attended Roosevelt University's Graduate School of Business. Mr. Maddox also holds a registered principal license Series 24.

Mr. Trygstad joins GWG from Miracle-Ear, Inc. where he served as Web Marketing Manager, responsible for the development and execution of the digital marketing and lead management strategy for more than 1,200 retail locations across the United States and Canada. While at Miracle-Ear, Mr. Trygstad specialized in senior marketing and handled the disposition of over 140,000 leads per annum. Mr. Trygstad's marketing experience spans more than 14 years, and he is an active member of the Minnesota Interactive Marketing Association. Mr. Trygstad also served as the Director of Marketing and Interactive Strategy for a $40 million technology firm. He holds a Bachelor's Degree in marketing from Carthage College in Kenosha, Wisconsin and received his MBA from the University of St. Thomas in the Twin Cities.
